Will your cover reach my postcode?
Yes. If a tracked courier reaches you, we can work for you. The RG postcodes account for most of what arrives, OX11 sends a steady share, and a good deal comes from further off than either. Return postage is ours regardless of where the box began.
Is the post the risky part?
Packing decides this, not mileage. An external travels in its own enclosure and a NAS goes whole, still assembled. Arrays are the opposite case: take the disks out of a server or RAID set, number each against the bay it came from, and send them bare. Do the same with a disk lifted from a laptop, a tower or a recorder. Pad every face of the box, then post it tracked and insured.
Can you collect it from me?
We run no van and no collection round. A tracked parcel beats waiting on a driver for speed, and fewer things can go wrong with one. Anyone who would rather deliver by hand can do so at the intake lab on a weekday. Where a server, a large array or a device held as evidence is involved, ring before you post anything and we will agree how it should travel.
I am nowhere near Reading — should I use somebody local?
Pick the bench, not the postcode. Nothing is collected from anyone, so a parcel from three streets away and one from the far end of the country join the same queue: both get logged and looked at on the day they land, and both come back with one fixed price in writing. A single drive is £300 + VAT; RAID sets, NAS boxes and servers open at £500 + VAT. On most jobs, nothing at all is charged if your files do not come back.
